All Are Welcomed at The Music Center
The Music Center welcomes all visitors. We are committed to making our programs, services and facilities universally accessible to everyone.
Vision Services
- We are able to provide large-print programs for some performances. Please call the Access Line at (213) 628-2772 24 hours in advance of your performance to inquire about accommodations.
- We rent binocular rentals in all theatres on a first-come, first-served basis for nominal fee.
Aural Services
As part of its ACCESS program, Center Theatre Group offers special services for the deaf and hard of hearing communities for select performances presented at The Music Center’s Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum. This includes Audio Description for select performances in the Ahmanson Theatre, which provides you with carefully timed narration of onstage action that is broadcast via an inconspicuous FM transmitter and received via Assistive Listening Device headsets; these devices are available for free in the Ahmanson lobby. For specifically scheduled performances, the ACCESS program also presents pre-play discussions and sign language-interpreted performances for audience members who are deaf or have hearing loss. Both theatres use the Phonic Ear FM system, and we offer a variety of headsets free of charge in the theatre lobbies. American Sign Language-interpreted performances and open-captioned performances may be available. Please check the Center Theatre Group website for more information. If you have a question about this service, please call (213) 628-2772.
We also offer Assistive Listening Devices such as Sennheiser Infrared System headsets free of charge for performances in The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Please ask a lobby attendant in these theatres to request this device.
Mobility
We provide complimentary wheelchair transport from The Music Center curbside locations to the theatres as requested by our guests. Please call The Music Center’s Guest Services department at (213) 972-0777 at least 24 hours prior to your performance to reserve pick up. This service is available only for transport from the curbside locations to the theatres. Guests are welcome to tip the ADA transport staff.
We offer accessible seating for persons using wheelchairs or those with mobility impairments along with their attendants or companions and accessible restrooms in all four theatres as well as ramps, wheelchair lifts and elevators in all public areas on Jerry Moss Plaza. The plaza restrooms are located on the Hope Street side of the plaza next to the Mark Taper Forum. Seating locations for patrons in wheelchairs are available in the Orchestra and third level (Loge) of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and on all levels of the Ahmanson Theatre and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Seating in the Mark Taper Forum is accessible by means of a platform lift and/or elevator. You can also request aisle seats in any theatre. Please contact the Box Office or Audience Services department of the presenting organization for more information about seating for your specific performance or event.
