The Music Center, in collaboration with our resident companies LA Opera, LA Phil and Center Theatre Group, is offering free work and rehearsal spaces at The Music Center campus to arts and cultural organizations, collectives and groups that have been displaced by the recent Los Angeles fires.
Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Spaces
Two spaces are available at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion*. These spaces are typically shared by The Music Center and LA Opera and are now being made available to support the arts community in need.

* Other spaces on The Music Center campus may be available based on timing and specific needs.

Conference Room (30-person capacity)
Features free Wi-Fi, video conferencing capabilities, a presentation TV/audio setup and large windows. -
Rehearsal Room (1,560 square feet)
Equipped with mirrors on two walls, a piano, 40 chairs, 2–4 tables, 6 music stands, a flat-screen monitor and free Wi-Fi.
The Music Center Annex Spaces
The Music Center Annex is used by Center Theatre Group. Please contact Center Theatre Group Deputy Managing Director Camille Schenkkan at CSchenkkan@CTGLA.org or (909) 957-2901 for the use of these spaces.
The Music Center Annex spaces offer temporary meeting space for groups up to 20 with power/WiFi, and can serve as potential rehearsal or workshop space. Paid parking is available nearby.

Center Theatre Group is also offering a rehearsal room at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. (Please note that the Kirk Douglas Theatre is located at 9820 Washington Blvd in Culver City and not on The Music Center campus.)
Available for small groups of evacuees (small-pet friendly), this can serve as temporary meeting space, rehearsal or workshop space for groups up to 20. Power and WiFi are available. Free parking is available nearby.

Kirk Douglas Theatre Rehearsal Room
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to:
- Nonprofit arts organizations (including those with a fiscal sponsor), arts schools, creative social enterprises and arts groups/collectives based in and/or serving Los Angeles County.
- Organizations or groups that have been displaced or are unable to safely return to their headquarters due to the recent Los Angeles fires.
Requirements
- Use of the spaces is limited to the organization’s staff or members; no publicly advertised events are permitted.
- Organizations must complete a release of liability waiver and, for rehearsal rooms, a booking agreement.
- Rehearsal room usage must comply with IATSE Local 33 guidelines. Use of additional equipment beyond the provided house equipment may incur charges and requires prior approval.
Availability
Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis starting January 22 - April 30, 2025, with a potential extension based on need.
