About
Accompanied by her accordion, toy piano and fiery band, Los Angeles-based chanteuse and songwriter Jessica Fichot draws from her multi-ethnic French, Chinese and American heritage to create an intoxicating, multilingual fusion of French chanson, Shanghai Jazz, gypsy swing and Folk.
Jessica, a Berklee College of Music Alumnus, was born in the U.S., but grew up in a suburb of Paris. After relocating to Los Angeles, she was inspired by the diversity of the city to write French “chansons" in the language of her youth, with touches of English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, her mother’s native language.
With three acclaimed albums under her belt, Jessica has charmed audiences in China, Mexico, Canada and across the U.S. and Western Europe. Featuring scorching performances from her bandmates on clarinet and saxophone, upright bass and guitar, as well as her own beautiful, clear vocals in French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and English, Fichot’s music is truly a dazzling trans-world journey.
Fichot is also an active composer, who has written hundreds of children’s songs for educational programs, as well as interactive music for many independent video games. Her multilingual vocals and some of her original songs have also been featured in movies, TV shows and commercials.
