Jazz Combo (Atwater Village)
Summertime? Night and Day? Time to get back into the swing of music-making!
Re-discover the essence of jazz in a not-so-standard, larger-than-life Jazz Combo workshop series designed for non-professional musicians. Explore the majesty of the blues, the tenderness of a ballad, and the power of swing. Create a collaborative composition, and celebrate, improvise and invigorate All The Things You Are.
GYCB Jazz Combo is for adult non-professional musicians with prior music-making experience, basic playing skills and the ability to read sheet music. Kindly provide your own instrument: saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, keyboard, or drum set; as well as a music stand.

This music-making series consists of the following SEVEN workshops (2.5 hours each) in Atwater Village on: July 24, August 7, 21 & 28, September 11 & 18, from 11:30am to 2pm. All 3 projects will gather at an Open House workshop at Walt Disney Concert Hall on September 23 from 6:30pm to 9pm.

The Music Center is located at 135 N. Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. Parking is available in Music Center garage for $9 on evenings and weekends.
