The TAAP runs from the end of June 2008 to May 2009 for a total of approximately 125 hours of instruction/teaching/coaching.
The application deadline is June 9, 2008 and notice of acceptance will be announced by June 24, 2008.

May 15 - Application available
June 9 - Application deadline
June 16 - Applicants notified of participation
June 24 - Two-hour Orientation Meeting, 4:30-6:30pm
July 28 - August 1 - Participation in the Institute from 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday, including a four-hour pre-Institute preparatory meeting, to be announced.
September 30 - December 2 - Participation in the Teaching Artist Training, the Music Center’s Basic training course where artists design and write a series of six lessons, including an opportunity to present one lesson to peers. This course meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:00-9:30pm.
January/February - Attendance in a minimum of 4 four-hour study group sessions led by Music Center staff and Master Teaching Artists. Study groups occur on select Tuesday evenings from 5:00-9:00pm.
Fall - ongoing shadowing of experienced Music Center Teaching Artists working in the field in classroom residencies and professional development sessions in partner schools. This occurs during the school day, sometime between 8:00am-2:30pm, to be announced.
February - May - Teaching of six developed lessons at a selected school site with coaching, mentoring, and support from the Music Center. These lessons can be scheduled various days of the week during the regular school day.
May - Participation in a one-to-one evaluation session with the Director
of Curriculum and Teaching Artist Development, two hours to be scheduled.
