Glen Kamida has been teaching music both at the public school level as well as privately for over 20 years. For the past 16 years, he has invested himself in the Torrance Unified School District at the Elementary and Middle School programs. He currently works at five different Torrance elementary schools, teaching both general music and instrumental music. He is a six-time PTA Honorary Service Award recipient. In November, 2008 he was named Los Angeles Lakers Teacher of the Month.
As a clarinet instructor, he currently teaches privately at Opus Music in Torrance. He has also served at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, the South Bay Conservatory, and for the past four summers, he coached the award-winning band at Tesoro High School in Las Flores and for Irvine Woodbridge High School. Mr. Kamida has also run in-services on clarinet technique for music teachers in Bakersfield, and for TUSD. Many of his students have gone on to the All Southern California and All State Honor Bands and Orchestras.
His credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles in Music Education, a Master of Arts degree in Clarinet Performance, and two teaching credentials. He is a 2009 Bravo Honorable Mention!
